It is an exceedingly handsome and showy plant named after Sussana,wife of Mr.Rumphius.Stem thickened,erect,2-3 feet high;leaves stalkless,widest at base the species grows wild in the western ghats.Flowers 3-4 inches across,waxy,white tinged with greenish yellow,sweetly scented.Sepals 1-3/4 inch,very broad,spreading,the dorsal almost obicular. It flowers during september and fills the surrounding air with its sweet odour.
