Bulbophyllum fisheri seen in flowering. The pseudobulbs are smooth and puberlous at base and an inflorescence umbel at the tip with flowers yellow with purple dots. We wrongly classified this specie into Bulbophyllum but it resembles the dendrobium macraei in form. The stems are long and creeping, annulate, profusely branching; polynodal ending in Pseudobulbs. This variety found common during our south field trips resembles Bulbophyllum fusco-purpureum in its habit. The Bulbophyllum neilgherrense has conical ovoid Psudobulbs and also has a long infloresecence. |
