Foliage House plants make up the permanent frame work of an indoor plant collection.Here are the plants which remain green throughout the year,their attraction arising fro the beauty of each individual leaf(e.g Monstera deliciosa and Begonia rex ) or fromm the overall effect of the foliage (e.g Asparagus and Chlorophytum).
A few plants, such as Zebrina and Sansviera ocasionally produce small flowers,but it is for their leaves and general growth that specimens of this group are grown.
Coleus,Croton,Gynura,Begonia,Maranta, and many others offer a multicoloured display.Even more types have foliage which is lined ,splashed or spotted with whiteor cream-Tradescantia,Diffenbachia,Chlorophytum,Scindapsus and Ivy are just a few examples.
