VANILLA BEANS TRADING OFFERS

Vanilla beans are available in all grades all year round.Availability:Annual between 6-15 tonne of quality vanilla beans of Grade-A , Grade-B and extraction grades. The beans will be A grade of Planifolia type measuring upwards of 16cms. Beans will be sun cured and have approximately 25% moisture content.Vanillin varies from 2-2.2%. In addition an equivalent quantity of beans of varying lower grades (B, being below 14cm to 12 cm, and C below 12 cm to 10cm) is also available.

Vanilla grows best under filtered sunlight. It flourises well in partial shade that cuts out about 50% sunlight. Since it is a climbing vine, it requires support for growing. Dead wood posts, few species of Erythrina, Plumeria alba and Glyricida are suitable standards for trailing vines. The crop is established by planting in situ shoot cuttings of 60-100cm length. After pollination, a full length bean is attained in six weeks time which in turn takes 6 months to reach full maturity. Under reasonable levels of management , Vanilla yields about 100 gms to 400 gms of cured beans per plant.

VANILLA PLANTS

Commercial vanilla is propagated by rooted stem cuttings. In vegetative propagation, the cuttings should be taken from healthy vigorous plants and may be cut from any part of the vine. We trail our mother vines in areca or such trees without allowing them to flower for production of mohter stock for planting. We provide technical support for planting and also help in undertsanding the physiology and agro practices required to harvest pods from least gestation periods.
