KAGAWARA CULTIVATION NOTES

GENERAL:

A typical hybrid like vandaceous the plant produces thick roots that will grow downwards. The plant habit is apical dominance and semi terete and strap leaved in design and floral panicles occur between leaf nods perpendicular to the leaf axil.

TEMPERATURE:
Can tolerate temperature regimes from 15*C to 35*C and is a tropical orchid.
LIGHT:

Good high light from medium sun and full sun tolerant. Grow under 30 percent shade if possible to prevent dehydration and leaf scorch.
WATERING:

Watering freely when in growth and in the morning or evening as per needs of the plant. Fully drenched.

FERTIGATION:
A light foliar NPK general purpose will help growth of the vegetative portion and roots well. A high P or High K is needed during flowering periods.
POTTING:
Can be grown in Vanda pots using wood or charcoal as media , hanging from top of the green house. If the apical dominance is disturbed the plant will throw keikeis from bottom root zones at the pot end.

Normally Blooming plants age from 12 month to 18 month or can be more based on the plant type. A blooming plant is a show piece by itself and can be used to decor gardens, patios, receptions or office or hospitality industry needs and they serve to live more longer in interior environments. Most classic example is the once used in airports, lounges and hotel lobbies.
